Concept & Order
What does Select Living stand for?
We manufacture custom fronts, doors, and built-in cabinets for the IKEA PAX system. Each piece is custom-made, produced from high-quality materials, and designed to ensure your closet is not only functional but also a visual highlight. This transforms your PAX into a custom-fit, custom-made built-in closet that perfectly fits your space.

What is the concept of Select Living?
Whether you already have an IKEA PAX or are buying a new one, you keep the IKEA carcass and we supply you with custom-made fronts, tops, and accessories to significantly enhance its appearance and quality.
How it works:
First, you plan your PAX at IKEA – size, interior design, and structure to suit your needs.
Then you can choose from high-quality fronts, doors, and cabinets in your desired color, surface, and height—even up to the ceiling, if desired.
Our elements are produced in our carpentry workshop in Gelsenkirchen and delivered directly to you.
This turns your PAX into a custom-made, carpenter-quality built-in wardrobe, perfectly tailored to your space.
Does Select Living make custom fronts?
Yes – we manufacture all our products individually for the IKEA PAX system.
There are two options:
- We produce fronts, doors, and attachments exactly in the standard dimensions of the IKEA PAX so they fit perfectly.
- We adapt the height and width to your room situation, e.g., for floor-to-ceiling doors up to 2.80 m, sloping ceilings, niche solutions, or wall-mounted cabinets for ceiling heights up to 3.80 m that close the gap between PAX and the ceiling.
No matter which variant – everything is custom-made in our carpentry workshop.
What do I need to pay attention to when ordering?
Carefully measure all relevant dimensions (width, height, depth, and any built-in niche) and allow approximately 3 cm of leeway for ceiling-high doors and the wall cabinet. If you're unsure, we can help you by phone or email. You'll find all further information with detailed explanations for the respective products.
Does Select Living also come by to take measurements?
No – our customers take the measurements themselves. If you need assistance or are unsure, just contact us. We'll be happy to help you by phone or email.
Is Select Living part of IKEA?
No. We are an independent company, independent of IKEA. We use the PAX system as a base, but develop our own, higher-quality solutions.
