Are you looking for PAX doors that can do more than the IKEA standard? At Select Living, you get individual doors for your IKEA PAX wardrobe – in over 30 colors, two material lines, and in a quality that IKEA doesn't offer. Our PAX doors are floor-to-ceiling, completely cover the cabinet plinth, and can be made to measure as full-height wardrobe doors up to 277 cm on request. This way, you transform your PAX wardrobe into a built-in closet that looks like it was made by a carpenter – on an IKEA PAX basis.

What makes our PAX doors different from IKEA's?

IKEA PAX doors are available in a handful of décors – Bergsbo, Forsand, Fardal – and in two fixed heights: 195 and 229 cm. None of them reach the floor, all show the plinth, and IKEA does not offer custom-made solutions. Our PAX wardrobe doors differ in four points: They are floor-to-ceiling and completely cover the plinth. They are available in over 30 colors. At around 17 kg per door, they weigh many times more than an IKEA door (3–5 kg) – you'll immediately notice the quality. And they can be custom-made as wardrobe doors to your individual ceiling height.

This combination turns a standard IKEA PAX wardrobe into a piece of furniture that doesn't have to hide behind any built-in wardrobe – at a fraction of the cost of a carpenter.

Standard height or full height – which PAX doors do I need?

We offer two variants. Our PAX doors in standard height fit exactly on the IKEA carcasses with 201 cm and 236 cm – they are floor-to-ceiling and cover the plinth, but they are flush with the carcass at the top. Our custom-made PAX doors go beyond that: They are manufactured with an extra length of up to 41 cm beyond the carcass, reaching up to the ceiling. For the 201 cm PAX, door heights up to 241 cm are possible, and for the 236 cm PAX, up to 277 cm.

Which variant is right for you depends on your room situation. If your PAX is in a niche and the gap to the ceiling doesn't bother you, standard doors are sufficient. If you want full-height PAX doors – a continuous look from floor to ceiling, the true built-in wardrobe look – custom-made full-height wardrobe doors are the better choice. Both variants can be found with us.

Full-height PAX doors – how does that work technically?

With full-height PAX doors, the door extends beyond the top edge of the carcass and closes just below the ceiling. The door is therefore longer than the carcass itself. At the bottom, it covers the plinth, at the top, the gap to the ceiling – the entire PAX wardrobe disappears behind a single, continuous front. Together with matching side panels and wall panels, a seamless surface is created that completely hides the IKEA origin.

When ordering, simply state your ceiling height – minus approx. 2 cm for clearance. Measure the height at several points in the room and take the lowest value. If you have stucco on the ceiling, we design the doors so that they end just before it. For ceiling heights above 280 cm, we recommend our PAX top cabinet as an addition – this allows for wardrobe solutions up to 380 cm ceiling height.

What materials and colors are available for PAX doors?

All our PAX doors – whether standard height or custom-made – are available in the same material lines: Aurora for color and Dendro for wood. Aurora Pure offers decorative coated particle board in modern shades such as Cloud, Linen, Dune, Pistachio, and Blush. Aurora Signature features single-sided lacquered surfaces with a velvety-matte feel in tones such as Frost, Ivory, Sand, Ash, Mink, and Graphite.

For those who prefer a wood look, there's the Dendro line: Dendro Pure with high-quality wood decor coating and Dendro Signature with real wood veneer in Heritage Oak, Core Walnut, or Shadow Walnut. Additionally, there's the Dendro Ligna variant with a ribbed structure. In total, over 30 colors and surfaces. You can order all surfaces as samples in advance and compare them in your room.

Which PAX carcass widths and heights are supported?

Our PAX doors fit all current IKEA PAX carcasses in widths 50 cm, 75 cm, and 100 cm. For the 75 cm wide carcass, we offer special 37.5 cm wide doors that allow for a symmetrical division in the middle. The standard PAX heights of 201 cm and 236 cm are both supported – and with custom manufacturing, you can individually extend the PAX height up to 277 cm.

What else is needed for the built-in wardrobe look besides PAX doors?

PAX doors alone do not make a built-in wardrobe. For the complete look, we also offer side panels, wall panels, and corner doors to match every color and material line. The side panels cover the visible sides of the PAX carcass in the same finish. The wall panels neatly close the gap between the wardrobe and the wall. And corner doors elegantly solve tricky room situations. All parts are manufactured in the same production run in our carpentry workshop in Gelsenkirchen – Made in Germany.

What do PAX doors from Select Living cost?

The price depends on the size, material line, and quantity. PAX doors in standard height start in the Aurora Pure line from approx. 160 Euros per door. Custom-made full-height wardrobe doors start from approx. 235 Euros. For a complete PAX wardrobe with four doors, side panels, and wall panels, you can expect to pay between 1,000 and 3,000 Euros for the Select Living parts, depending on the configuration. A comparable built-in wardrobe from a carpenter can quickly cost 5,000 to 10,000 Euros.

Can I just replace the PAX doors and keep the carcass?

Yes, that's exactly the principle. Your existing IKEA PAX remains – interior, shelves, clothes rails, everything stays. You only replace the visible PAX wardrobe doors. Installation takes only a few minutes per door. This also makes our PAX fronts the perfect solution if you want to visually refresh your wardrobe without buying everything new. New color concept in the bedroom? Simply replace the doors – the carcass remains, the look is completely new.

Frequently Asked Questions about PAX Doors

Do your PAX doors fit every IKEA PAX?
Yes, on all current carcasses in 50, 75 and 100 cm width and 201 or 236 cm height. Hinge positions are identical to IKEA, but own Select Living hinges are required (for the higher weight of approx. 17 kg).

How tall can custom-made PAX doors be?
Up to 241 cm on the 201 cm PAX and up to 277 cm on the 236 cm PAX – i.e., up to 41 cm extra length. For even higher ceilings, we recommend the PAX top cabinet.

What is the difference to your standard doors page?

Can I combine the PAX fronts in one color for standard doors and full-height doors?
Yes, all colors and material lines are available in both variants. In a wardrobe combination, you can, for example, equip the PAX in the hallway with standard doors and the PAX in the bedroom with full-height doors – all in the same color.

How long does delivery take?
Since each door is individually manufactured in our family carpentry workshop in Gelsenkirchen, delivery time is 4 to 6 weeks.
