IKEA PAX Planner by Select Living – design your wardrobe individually

Are you looking for a PAX planner that allows you to truly customize your IKEA PAX wardrobe? Our 3D configurator goes a crucial step further than the standard IKEA PAX planner: you not only plan the carcass and interior, but also directly complement your PAX with custom-made fronts, top cabinets, wall panels and decorative panels from Select Living. The result is a high-quality fitted wardrobe based on IKEA PAX – which looks as if it came from a carpenter.

What differentiates our PAX Planner from the IKEA PAX Planner?

The IKEA PAX Planner is a practical tool for assembling the basic structure of your wardrobe: carcasses, interiors, shelves, clothes rails and standard doors in IKEA colors. What the IKEA PAX Planner cannot do: plan individual fronts, ceiling-high doors, top cabinets or wall panels. This is exactly where our PAX Planner comes in.

At Select Living, you build on the existing IKEA basic carcass – and complement it with our custom-made additional parts to create an individual fitted wardrobe. In the 3D configurator, you select your PAX basic framework, then add our fronts in your desired color, plan top cabinets up to the ceiling and wall panels for a seamless look. The result is a completely planned Select Living fitted wardrobe based on IKEA PAX – including all parts and prices.

How our 3D PAX Configurator works

The planning process is divided into three steps. In the first step, you create your basic IKEA framework: PAX carcasses in the desired dimensions and quantity. In the second step, you add our Select Living extensions – custom-made doors, top cabinets, side and decorative panels in over 30 colors and materials. In the third step, you can order your configuration directly or save it as a planning code to edit it later or discuss it with our consulting team.

The entire planner runs in the browser – no download, no app, no registration required. You see your wardrobe in real time as a 3D preview and can adjust colors, materials and dimensions as desired until everything fits perfectly in your room.

What products can I configure in the PAX Planner?

Our configurator covers the entire Select Living range for IKEA PAX: custom-made doors in over 30 colors and two material lines (Aurora (color) and Dendro (wood)), top cabinets for PAX heights of 201 and 236 cm, wall panels and side claddings for a flush look, and decorative panels to close the gap to the ceiling. All parts are manufactured in our family joinery in Gelsenkirchen – Made in Germany.

You can also combine different PAX widths: 50 cm, 75 cm and 100 cm carcasses can be freely arranged next to each other in the planner. This allows you to plan wide wardrobe walls, niche solutions or L-shaped dressing rooms – all in a single configuration.

Use the IKEA PAX Planner and then upgrade at Select Living – is that possible?

Yes, that is even a very common approach for our customers. Many start in the IKEA PAX Planner to plan the interior of their wardrobe – shelves, drawers, clothes rails, baskets. Then they switch to our Select Living PAX Planner to design the exterior appearance: individual fronts instead of IKEA standard doors, top cabinets for a room-high look, panels for a seamless finish.

The two planners complement each other perfectly. The IKEA PAX Planner is strong for the interior and for planning the basic carcasses. Our PAX Planner is strong for everything that turns the wardrobe into a design piece from the outside. Together, this results in a wardrobe that is functionally well thought out on the inside and individually designed on the outside – at a fraction of the cost of a carpenter.

What PAX dimensions does the planner support?

Our 3D configurator supports all common IKEA PAX carcass dimensions: widths of 50, 75 and 100 cm in heights of 201 cm and 236 cm. The standard depth is 35 cm or 58 cm. Our top cabinets allow the total height to be extended to up to 380 cm – so the wardrobe reaches the ceiling, even in high old buildings.

How much does a wardrobe from the PAX Planner cost?

The cost depends on the size of your wardrobe, the number of doors and the chosen material. A PAX wardrobe with two carcasses and four Select Living doors starts at approx. 1,000 to 1,500 Euros for the fronts – plus the IKEA carcasses and the interior. A comparable fitted wardrobe from a carpenter can quickly cost 5,000 to 10,000 Euros. On our inspiration page you will find real customer examples with detailed price information.

In the planner, you see the price in real time: every change in color, material or size immediately updates the calculation. This way, you always keep control of your budget and can try out different variants before making a decision.

Do I need help with the planning?

You can use the PAX Planner completely independently – it is intuitively designed and can be learned in a few minutes. However, if you are planning a complex configuration, need to consider a sloped ceiling, or are unsure about the measurements, our consulting team is there to help. You can request a callback at any time or send us your saved plan by email. We will check your configuration and advise you on materials, colors and technical details.

Many of our customers start with a rough plan in the configurator and then refine it together with our team. This results in a product that perfectly matches the room, style and budget.
